Quincy Quarries

On September 8 2007 a few very helpful volunteers showed up to this year's Quincy Quarries Adopt-a-Crag cleanup event. The weather was warm and beautiful and we got some good work done. Pictures can be seen here.

A very successful Adopt-a-Crag event was held at the Quincy Quarries in September 2002. Over 160 volunteers completed a number of trail projects and site improvements. This event, and its leader Scott Sandberg, received Beginner class at Quincy Quarries the "Adopt-a-Crag Stewardship Award", as one of the Access Fund's top 3 events in the nation. Over 80 events were held in 34 states as part of this annual program. The 2003 Adopt-a-Crag event is scheduled for Sept 6th. We are now in discussion with the MDC as to how we can continue this good work at the Quarries. Additional rock moving, trail building and graffiti removal is planned for 2003. Keep your eye on the website for a schedule. These improvements are partially funded by the recent awarding of two grants from The Access Fund.
